An independent guide to getting things done in Costa Rica. Every fact linked to its official source.

Nobody should lose a day over one missing document.

PUNTO YA CR was born so that getting things done in Costa Rica stops being guesswork. We tell you what to bring, where to go and what it costs, before you leave home.

It started with a question

We have all been there: you need a document, a residency renewal, a power connection or a business permit, and nobody tells you where to begin.

The information is out there, but it is spread across dozens of websites, written in difficult language and sometimes out of date. People without time to dig, and people with disabilities, pay the highest price.

So we do the work of finding, organizing and explaining it. Every fact carries its official source, so you don’t have to take our word for it: you can check.

No judgment.No fine print.Always sourced.

What we do

We are an independent guide. We organize public information from government institutions and explain it in plain words. You complete each procedure directly with the institution in charge, and we walk with you along the way.

Details on the scope of our information are in the legal notice (Spanish).

  • Always sourced

Every requirement, fee and deadline links to the official page and shows when we last checked it.

  • Human review

Important changes are reviewed by a person before they are published.

  • For everyone

We design so anyone can use the site, with Punto as a guide and people with disabilities in mind.
